My SIP provider says they support the Caller ID being set by the PBX.

I tried tagging the call string with Nsxxxxxxxxxx and NSixxxxxxxxxx but it does nothing.

Is this even supported on SIP lines?

that is not supported with SIP
you need to go to the URI in the SIP and overwrite the two option "use userdata" or "use Authentication data" with your ID you want to send.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

We use this facility with our provider Voiceflex.

We set the SIP URI to use User Data and then put the number we wish to display on outbound calls into the SIP tab on the user section.

Or, add a new SIP URI, enter the number you want to sent.
Change the "outgoing group" number, add a new ARS and create a user(rights) shortcode ?/./New ARS and you done.

If you enter anonymous in the SIP URI then It will not sent a CLI, but you provider must except it.

You have to fill out the user SIP tab with the number if you are doing it on user by user basis.. If not use the sip URI tab and do the same..

New problem.

If the "Local URI" field has a number in it then Caller ID will display whatever that number is; that is working great!... But incoming calls don't work with a 404 Not Found error on the SIP line.

Is this a bug? Or am I missing something?

I've tried 4.2.17, 4.2.20, 5.0.8 all with the same results.

Like i said, add the new numbers in the SIP URI, leave the one you have in there.

For incomming you also need to add the numbers in the incomming call route.

Good that you have it working now.

Its supported on the system in 5.0. You can flag the trunk to support PAssertID, which allows it to send the actual SIP info and the "show THIS number instead" flag with different data. It will pick up your Nsi5132411010 string (or whatever number you use) for the asserted ID.

Hope this helps...

Kris he has SIP.

From the docs;

S - Calling Number
Place any following digits into the outgoing call's calling number field.

· Changing the outgoing CLI on calls using SIP trunks is not supported.
