Hi,

I have a bunch of AVAYA B179 SIP Conference phones that I can't get to work, they were working previously but I'm unsure why they've stopped now...

I am getting either 'Forbidden' or 'Timed Out' show up on the phones when I try to call out.

Here are some monitor logs:

The user is not allowed to make external calls USER>TELEPHONY>SUPERVISOR SETTINGS>OUTGOING CALL BAR

Hi,

Just checked these options and they are unticked for all of the phones already,

thank you

Check system status to see if there is a user matched to the extension.

Yes, each extension has a user with the correct extension

Not what the trace is implying...

Guessing the conference phone isn't registered to the system.

How would I see the user is with the extension? I can see this is the case in IP Office - I have a extension called 8100 and a user with the extension 8100.

How would I register the phone to the system?

thank you

Check SSA extension and see if you can see the B179, also in Monitor go to status and SIP phone status it will tell you if it is registered or not.
Mike

It says they're unregistered but how do I register them? Not sure why I'm getting call barred errors as well if the option isn't selected..

Because you are not registered.

So you're not allowed to make any external calls.

Do you see a SIP extension in ssa in tav system > SIP extensions?

If the phone is registered with the system but not associated with a user, then it uses the settings of the user called NoUser and one of their defaults is being set to outgoing call bar.

- Does the user who should be associated with the phone have a login code set?

- Are they set to Force Login (if so, switch that off)

- Use the *35*N# shortcode to log the user in on the phone.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
