Simple Setup Help: Make all extensions ring?

Our phone system reset itself and I just want to have it do something very simple: When an external call comes in, ring all extensions until someone picks up.

I've looked at a ton of forum posts but still haven't been able to figure this out.

By default the phones beep once and then the auto attendant picks up. I don't want that. I just want all extensions to ring.

Can someone guide me how to do that please?

Be default, all extensions DO ring, including the voicemail ports. But those voicemail ports need to have calls filtered through the hunt and distribution groups to know what to do with them. You can temporarily pull out the voicemail card (with the power off, of course), and then post what your set up is, and someone can tell you what to program next to make it all work.

Maybe I just need to completely reset then because all of my phones don't ring when either of my phone lines are called. I was able to put all of my extensions in call hunt group and then get calls to directly ring that, but what I want is for a calling grip to be able to ring.

You mentioned posting my config, is there an easy way to do that?

Take all of your phone OUT of the hunt group. They don't belong here. Only the ports of the voicemail system go in the hunt group.

When I asked for your set up, I mean what kind of module is in slot 1, what is in slot 2, what processor and what release do you have, what voicemail are you using, do you have a port license card or port expansion card in the voicemail?

My setup is a Avaya Partner 2 module setup with the ACS processor module and the 308EC Module R3.0. In the PC Card slots are the remote support card and the Partner Voice Messaging PC Card (Large). When I punch in F59 on my 18D phone it says the version is "P ACS R5.0 C01"

I have phones plugged into extensions 10-17. I have Telco lines in Line 01-03.

Currently when I call any of my outside lines extension 10 beeps for a brief second and then the caller hears a message that says "Your party is unavailable, to transfer to another extension press *8 or to reach the receptionist press 0"

If they press 0 then extension 10 rings. If they press *8 and choose another extension that extension rings. If they choose ext 71 (a calling group with all extensions in it) then all phones ring.

Hopefully that is enough about my current setup... Now to repeat what I want:

When an external call comes in I want it to ring all extensions (10-17) simultaneously until someone picks up. I don't care about voicemail or anything else. I just want all phones to ring.

Please help. I've read the manual front-to-back, looked at countless forum posts and I'm no closer to accomplishing my simple desire. Thank you in advance.

Go into system programming (At Ext. 10, Feature 00, Left Intercom twice)

Dial #505-7-10
Press 2

Find the button in the 2nd column, 2nd button down (if you have an 18-D set, 3rd column 2nd button down if it's a 34-d) and press it.

The extension will change to 11

Press 2 again. Press that button you found above, the extension increments by one, press 2. Keep doing this for EVERY extension number from 10 through 57, but when you get to 78 and 79, PRESS 1

Because the system has a remote access/backup restore card, you might want to save the system configuration once everything is operating correctly. Doing this will allow you to restore everything back to normal if something is changed in error, or, if the processor looses programming.

I believe that the manual backup is #124, and, can be executed from x10 or x11.

If you do not already have one, download a copy of the Partner Voice Messaging document "585-322-706". [Smile]
