Hi,
I would like to get voip feature so I can build pbx to pbx network intented for call center function. This way I can reroute call to site B to site A, if the operator in the site B is busy or the call goes unanswered. This way, the incoming call can be pick up by the employee in site A.

Site B will be installed KX TDE200 since the current pbx is very old one, and right now site A has TDA200. I was told I have to upgrade my MPR to IP convergence MPR so I can achieve this goal. Does this sound right? I thought TDA200 itself support voip? Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks for your answer.
I wanna confirm, Can TDA200 and TDE200 connected with each other for VoIP without upgrading the MPR card of TDA200 to IPCMPR? If so, I must be careful. Seems like I'm close to being ripped off.

Do I need 16‐Channel VoIP DSP Card (DSP16)KX‐TDE0110 for my TDA200's VoIP capability?

you don't need to, they will talk to each other. you need the Panasonic KX-TDA0490 16-Channel IP Gateway Card or Panasonic KX-TDA0484 4 Channel IP Gateway Card depends on how many speach paths required.

on the tde you will need the dsp 16, which comes with 4 licences for gateway trunks

Ok so I would need IP gateway card for both PBX, also I only need the dsp 16 just for the TDE system not TDA, right?

Do i need to set up vpn for this goal? What is the typical bandwidth needed for 4 IP channel working simultaneously?
Thanks in advance.

@cwc3: whats BNA?

bna "busy no answer" if you want overflow
untill you get ip stuff set up properly to go back out on a pots or isdn line to site b set overflow dest for incoming icd group for site A to lead number of site B....

How much bandwidth do you have at location
a and b who is the provider? mpls is the best solution !!

I'm planning to set up 1mbps dedicated point to point line, this would be used as DB transaction as well, thats why i wanna know whats the typical bandwidth usage for 4 channel simultaneously. There will be 3 sites site A is the head office and the rest the branch.

the dsp card in the tde will give you IP, extension, sip trunks/gateway trunks.
the tda needs the ip gateway card

Bandwidth per channel is as below. Using G729a will use 2 channels on the gateway and dsp16 so if using 4 at that rate it will use 8 channels( so dsp 4 and 4 channel gateway card will not cover 4 voice paths)

Codec Packet Sending Interval
20 ms 30 ms 40 ms 60 ms
G.722*1/G.711 87.2 kbps 79.5 kbps — —
G.729A 31.2 kbps 23.5 kbps 19.6 kbps 15.7 kbps
