Hy, I´m looking for a Pack of Shell Controls that would be compatible with Visual FoxPro 9.
I was looking at the Longtion ShellControls trial solution but it seems that does not show me the complete properties sheet and I can´t link the ShellComboBox with the ShellListView or the ShellTreeView for example.

If you happen to know a set of shell controls that is compatible with visual foxpro as container please tell me.

A couple of possibilities come to mind:

Codejock ( have an ActiveX suite that includes a wide range of UI controls. I use their report (grid) control, and have evaluated some of their other products.

Codejock products are very rich in features, they work well in VFP, and the cost is reasonable. But it is an enormous struggle to learn to use them. The documentation is terrible, and the support is mediochre.

Another possibility is DBI ( Their products are excellent, and are very much written with VFP in mind. I've had good experiences with some of their controls, but the last time I looked, I decided that they were too expensive (that was about a year ago; things might have changed).

Apart from that, I suggest a Google search. I've just done that and came up with half a dozen good-looking hits.

Mike

I´ve got the solution. Finally my Longtion Shell Controls worked fine. But in the meantime I found the JAM ShellBrowser ActiveX Controls which works much better.
The CodeJock doesn´t give me all the three Shell Controls I need: ShellComboBox, ShellTreeView, ShellListView and neither facilitates me the way to link them together like a true explorer like interface.
Now I shall compare the two products and I´ll see wich of them is better for my project.
Thank you so much for your support.

I noticed the JAM product when I did a Google search yesterday, but I didn't specifically mention it because I don't know anything about it.

It's good that you've got a couple of possibilities to work with. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on with them once you've finished your comparison.

Mike
