Setting upAgent login without EAS

I am trying to setup an agent login with EAS. i have BCMS-vu turned on and believe that an autodial would be feature code (*21), huntgroup number (98), agent login (2995) e.g. *2100982995 but i keep getting denial event 1381: Agent login failure. i have setup a hunt group with no extensions in it so that i can log into it and i have setup a bcms-vu login id.
does anyone have any pointers on this or can someone point me in the direction of a relevant manual

did you add the login id in the hunt group?

i tried adding the login id but the hunt group does not accept it should i be adding the extension that the user is on?
