I have a S8710 server and all IP phones 4621 and 9620 phones. I need to setup backup and restore. My http server is established already. What do I need to do to get these phones setup for backup and restore bewond changing. 46xxsettings.txt file to SET BRURI (with the proper IP address)

46xx phones backup to FTP the last I knew-maybe the newer ones will fo HTTP.I am not sure.
Beyond that you need to make sure on the IIS server that "WebDav" is allowed on the HTTP server permissions and you need to specify a directory within the HTTP server that your phones will back up to.
Ex: C:/Avaya and make that folder shared with read and write permissions.
I have also seen where you need to make sure that "Internet Guest Users" have access to that folder with read and write permissions as well.
A good test is to open up IE from a PC and enter the IP of the HTTP server and see what you get-it should bring you to a page that displays the contents of your backup folder-presumably where your upgrade and settings files are stored also.

If you can do that then you should be all set-if that works and the phones still will not backup then you have an error in the 46xxsettings file.
