I want to set up a hotline phone that when picked up it will automatically ring the main receptionist phone and display a name. I set up a 3902 with key 0 as a HOTLINE_D (direct) which when the handset is lifted automatically rings the main receptions, that works but a name does not appear on the main receptionist phone. Any ideas on how i can get that to work or another way that would work? Than you.

Is this internal? or is the hot D off premise? Does the name display on other calls?

i don't have my book but add a dn to the key.. if you have

key 0 hot d 4 1000 to ring down to 1000 then it has to have dn added and i can't remember the key.. hot l 1999 1000 then name 1999... that allows you to dial 1999 and ring the hot line as well as transfer to it

nn HOT D dd num DN m (cccc or D) hot-21
Two-way Hotline key
Where:
dd = number of digits dialed
num = target_number (terminating DN is a
maximum of 31 digits)
DN = two-way hotline DN
m = one of the following Terminating Modes:
H = Hotline (default), N = Non-ringing,
R = Ringing, or V = Voice
cccc = CLID table entry of (0)-N, where N = the
value entered at the SIZE prompt in LD 15
minus 1.
D = the character .D.. When the character .D. is
entered, the system searches the DN keys from
key 0 and up, to find a DN key with CLID table
entry. The CLID associated with the found DN
key will then be used.
xx HOT D nn x...x hot-10
Direct entry for One-way Enhanced Hotline key
Where:
nn = number of digits dialed
x...x = Hotline terminating DN up to a 31 digit
maximum

This is an internal Hotline phone. It is for the front door. I will try adding that, thank you.

Here is how the set is programmed on our Option 11C.
