Hi,
Iv'e recently installed an IP500 with preferred and an SBC for remote workers. The office workers use 1608's and the remote users have E129's. Their customers will call in for a language interpretor so the user will put the caller on hold then ring round for an interpreter when they find one that is available they need to assign a job number that will then be outputted in the SMDR so the call can be billed.

On the 16's i have allocated a button for set account code which works fine. The problem is with the E129's because you cant program a button so we tried the shortcode route but the only way i can get it to work is if they dial the set account code shortcode before they dial out which doesn't work for them as they need to apply the code whilst they are on the phone.

Ideally the E129's need to dial a code once they have got everyone on the conf call that sets the code which will appear in the SMDR output.

Any ideas would help.

cheers.

The 129 are SIP phones so no luck there. They are also really cheap and therefore you can't expect them to work as well as the more expensive phones (have a hard time to write that about the 1608's already)
There is no way to enter an account code while on a phone call with the SIP phones except maybe with one-x portal but I am not sure about that TBH.
If you have a one-x portal running try it with that.

You may find you'll need to go to VPN and proper IP Phones here, that's how I would have done it in this situation anyway :)

Even with one-X Portal you can't set or change the account code during a call (that's coming in 9.1).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

can you not set the account code by placing the call on hold?

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

No putting the call on hold doesn't work either. I've managed to work round it using PM lite to control the call then setting the account code.

try parking the call then make a shortcode to pickup the parked call that requires entering an account code. Pulling on straws here but maybe it works
