Hi
When I try to run a sip routing trace on a System Manager - with valid values (I think) I get an error returned from Sysman after about 45 to 60 secodns
The error reads
"Failed to retrieve out from <ASM name> - can't connect to server"

I must be doing something wrong, but I can't see what. It can't be this flukey!
I don't think the this is version dependent as I've had intermittent issues for a long time with this! (Sysman and ASM 6.3.17)

Any clues or suggestions?

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

I've always had it be kinda hokey. I prefer to use traceSM from the SM CLI.

Otherwise, specifically to your problem, is it possible that maybe some certificates expired or that the SM/SMGR FQDNs aren't resolvable to one another?

It you go into the replication part of System Manager and that SM is replicating properly, that would eliminate those possibilities. Generally speaking, the management link is over a secure link and via a certificate, so that cert's validity and FQDN resolution are pretty key.

You can restart a management service on SM without being service affecting. Its 'restart mgmt' at the SM cli. Careful if it's a seriously busy/critical SM. Maybe try a planned reboot if that's the case

>I've always had it be kinda hokey.
Definitely agree!

>I prefer to use traceSM from the SM CLI
traceSM has its uses and I use it extensively. I'd like to use the call routing test as provides a different set of information.

It is replicating properly! But I'd accept that we have some "funny" stuff with domain names going on. (Thanks for that one, deployment team!)
