I need to renew certs on my primary and secondary Session Manager servers running 8.1.3 that are expiring in 60 days. I have received conflicting information how to correctly renew the certs.

I have the following questions:

1. After renewing the certs I need to reboot each server. Do I have to disable the geo-redundant link before rebooting the secondary SM server after activating deny service? Avaya says this is not required.
2. After the secondary server is up and accept service is activated I will reboot the primary SM server. Once up and I verify the new certs are active do I enable the geo-redundant link?

Avaya is advising to reboot the SM servers thru the root CLI using the command "rebootSM -r" and not thru the SMGR.

Please let me know if I and missing any steps.

I'm not even sure that's needed. I would think renewing thru SMGR would fix it.

I know SMGR now auto-renews his web server certificate

How are you renewing them? Through the SMGR web page or initTM?

kyle555,

I am renewing the certs thru the SMGR> Inventory> Manage Elements>Manage Identity Certs from the SMGR. Click on renewal for each cert but Avaya documentation states a reboot of SM is required to active the new certs.
