Hi everybody - We have a user who will be going on medical leave, and they want to have a simple announcement informing callers of this, but which will not record any voice messages. I tried to set this up, but I must be missing something because it's not working. Here's what I did:
1. I went into system recordings and recorded the announcement, saved it and gave it a name.
2. I went into Announcements and assigned the recording to an announcement and saved it. For the action after the announcement is played, I chose "terminate call" as we simply want the system to hang up after the greeting is played.
Then, I went into the extension, and set the optional destination to be the announcement.
When I called the extension, the user's voice mail was still answering, so I disabled it, thinking that it would then go to the misc. destination. When I did that, after the pre-determined number of rings, the call simply terminates and goes dead.
Perhaps there's an easier way to do this than what I'm trying. Happy to try something different if there's an easier way. I loved the Partner Messaging for this feature - it was built right into the user's voice mail options. Perhaps another great feature for the emetrotel folks to consider!
Thanks everyone,
-M
