Hi,

Not sure if this is possible but we run several departments and would like each department to be able to send a different Caller ID when making outgoing calls, i.e. Sales, Technical, Admin etc all to each send a different number when they make a call so if a customer redials the it, it goes to the right department.

We have a range of DDI numbers already assigned to 0845 numbers that are then assigned to groups on the phone system and each group will ring on a predetermined set of handsets depending on what departmnet you are in. So really all we want is the groups to have a caller dispay number assigned to them i suppose.

At the moment when you make a call the system sends the main ISDN number but not our DDI's, but i think that is a BT problem.

We have an Avaya 406 V1 running IP office 3.1 (48). All our handsets are 5410's.

Thanks....Pigsfoot

Yes, you can use the user restrictions.

Ad shortcode,s for dailing like

0N
NSxxxxxxxxxx after S = number you want to send
Dail

So every restrection an other number to send
then make every user an member of the right user restriction.

Number outside must also send correctly by your provider.

What are you trying to send - your ddi 0113 123 4567 0r 0845 987 6543?

BT will only allow you send either any number in your DDI range, any SNDDI number or the base/bearer number of your ISDN (which is often the first number of your ddi range, but not exclusivley so)

BT have a extra service, called presentation number, that will allow you to display a NGN (0870, 0845, 0800 etc). However, you have to order this with BT (It is chargeable) and it will take some time to get set up. Likewise, you can only do this with 1 number, so you can't have each extension displaying its own 0845 number

Take Care

Matt
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Big70,

Thanks for your help. Can you confirm the shortcode settings for me please as i have tried it and it's not working.

Is it 0( as in zero ) followed by N or O ( for orange ) followed by N.

Also not sure if this matters but we use 9 for an outside line, i have tried setting the short code to [9]N; but this didn't work either.

The problem could be with the line provider as even with the above settings the number displayed is still our ISDN trunk line number.

Thanks for your help so far.

Regards....Pigsfoot

We use 0 in Holland
You need

9
.
Secondairy Dailtone

[9]N;
NSxxxxxxxx or 9NSxxxxxxx (if you using a prefix in Line)
Dial

But like Matt says it also depents on your provider.

Also check Monitor first to see if the right number is send.

I had this problem under a Bellsouth T1 and was able to get it working by using Nsi########## as the dialed number for individual user's short codes "[9]N;" and "[9]1N;". I'm pretty sure it's the "i" that made it work for us. It sounds like a bunch of the Bell companies require the "national" bit to be set or something like that.

That will only set up the outgoing number, if you want a different display name too, then you will have to contact your phone company and get them to add the name information for the number you use after the Nsi.

Hope this might help you as it took me about a week to finally get it working here.
