I have been trying to find some information about the search enterise that we all enter in the search/ address bars of any search engine here we will use yahoo, I would like to know where are they all stored and aare on individual computers or on the net or on the yahoo system or site please help. malik

From what i've been told, most of the search engines will have them stored on their servers for faster access. Once you've typed in the search criteria, it will then access the computer where the links to websites are stored depending on the search criteria that you've entered.

I hope this helps.

From what I know of it this information is stored on the Yahoo servers. However it is constantly being updated, this is why something you found in a page 1 of search results three weeks ago is now on page 3.

The server database is updated by another process that scans all available web pages for keywords. These keywords are written in the head of the web page. When teh server finds teh keywords it puts an entry in it's database.

When you come along and run a search the database responds by showing you all current matches.

Hope this helps
