Hi All

I am going to change out a SD Card tomorrow as it is displaying in system status "System not running System SD software" It will be the second time we have reformatted/recreated this same card and suspect the card has become corrupt. I have the new card with the licences swapped over and it has been a while since i have done this and only thing that i cannot remember is after I have reformatted and recreated the new card are the existing security settings still retained or are all usernames/password back to default?

Thanks all in advance

You can copy the Sysetm\Primary\security.cfg file from the old SD card to the new one, to keep the security settings.

So if I don't copy the security.cfg the username/passwords will be default? is that the same for the security user?

Thanks again

If you don't copy it the IPO will write the current settings from NVRAM of the chassis. If you do have problems with passwords you can always default them through DTE.

One last question would it be okay to place the config.cfg and PLDSkeys.xml in to System/Primary and then insert it into IP500V2 then boot ? Usually I would place the new reformatted/recreated card in unit then use Manager to load a save config and then the licences. I was speaking to other engineers who have done it that way with no problems but want to know if there is any downfalls doing it that way.
