What kind of scsi cable to connect to the scsi connector of xserve?

XServe server doesn't come with a SCSI card. XServe RAID array is fibre AFAIK. Can you be a bit clearer?

I plan to connect a backup drive to Xserve which uses SCSI.

What is the best way to back up the Xserve? Recommendation of software, hardware, etc. Thank you.

ylancantho,

Xserves use ATA or SATA drives; you'll need to buy a SCSI card if you want to back up to a SCSI device. I've looked around a little and it doesn't appear that Apple themselves sell one.

Try and check out the UL4S PCI Card.

It's been awhile, we use SCSI LTO Autoloaders on the G4 Servers using UL3D cards but I don't see that those are available.

Why SCSI? You can back up to firewire.
