Hello All,

I'm having an issue on our POTS lines that we ported to our MPLS network, its on line 9 - 12. When an incoming call comes in on line 9 thru 12 there is a scratching/static noise for about 2-3 seconds then goes away. Outgoing calls are good. I directly plugged in a butt set into those lines and there was no scratching noises. I did the impedance test on those lines and used the default 600 f.t., lowered the dB for A->D and D->A, we have digital handsets. Anybody have any suggestions that I could try? I plugged in the different lines 9-12 on the into the Avaya IPO and still get the same scratching/static noise.

Thanks!

If it sounds like "burrrrrrrrr click" and then you are connected to the caller, then it is most likely Ring Generator from your MPLS Adapter Box that you are hearing.

This is a common report from others with Comcast, Time Warner, Cox and other VOIP to Analog Dial Tone Adapter Box providers.

There is no solution in the IP Office since it is answering the call but the Adapter Box does not recognize it.

Speak with the provider and have them come out, maybe they can adjust their box.

Yes, I notified the provider and waiting on an from them.
