hi
I have 3 sites connected via scn.Site A is the main with B and C connected via H323 trunks.

My problem is if a call comes into Site A on a PRI and transfered to Site B--NO PROBLEM-- but if I try and transfer the call back to Site A the call is answered on Site A but Site B can not release it when pressing the transfer key.

Any obvious ideas??

Thanks

Do you have direct media path turned on on the SCN trunks?
You need to otherwise it will use two channels and it looks like the routing is not setup very well and causing this issue.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

yes I have direct media path turned on on all sites

What version software runs on the IPO's?

Do you have duplicate numbers on your trunks or incoming and outgoing group id's

the trunk between A and B is ID 17 at both sites and the trunk between A and C is ID 18 at both sites, dont see how this could cause an issue.

what about the group ID's on them? if they are the same you can have issues like this.

Im going to upgrade it from 8.0.(16) to the latest 8.0(42) before I change ID's as this worked before the upgrade from 6.0 to 8.0

If you read the SCN documentation it explains that at least the outgoing group ID's should be unique on every system. I always try to use unique trunk numbers, incoming and outgoing group ID's.

The documentation says:

· We also recommend that all names and numbers (line, services, etc) on the separate systems are kept unique. This will reduce potential maintenance confusion.

· The Outgoing Group ID on the SCN lines should be changed to a number other than the default 0.

..Doesnt say each site needs a unique Outgoing Group ID.

Also as it worked before upgrade to Rls 8.0 ,I will try update it first.

I think the etc would about cover that, we all know it's best to do it just from the reading the same documents... and playing it safe :)

ya i will also say that it seems the SCN has become more and more sensitive with newer releases. i think because there is more and more information being exchanged between systems and things like this may pop up.
