We have a three site SCN. No VCM, VM on each site, LCR to dial DDI for each user on other branches.
Basically is just for signaling, we want that one user on branch 2 see if the other user on branch 1 is on the phone, call back etc.

Dialing is solve by LCR son anyone dialing 979x/123456N/0/dial. everithing is beautifoul.

But, if they dial to other ext on other site we get a loud dial tone, we can not leave vm messages between branches.

Any clues?
IP trunk setting: 2 data channels. 0 voice channels.

Does anyone has a similar config running?

According to Avaya you can't have VM on each site if you are using SCN (Voice Networking). At least that was the latest guideline I heard :)

Sure you can, you just can't use Centralized VM AND a local VM Server.

I am slow in the uptake, Can you explain in more depth how you are calling from site to site? The short code you provided is confusing me.

You call a extension on the other site, it does not answer and the call goes to Voicemail, your IPO is told over SCN to go to VM but this is not possible because there is no VoIP path to connect the call over.

I never tried it but this may work:

Users may NOT enable VM. Lock it in the User restrictions.

You need a systemshortcode :
SC = *9XXX
TN = #N
Action = VoicemailCollect

users must set "*9their own extension number" as a divert on no answer or divert on busy target.

Example user on remote site has number 544.
His divert target then will be *9544.
You call 455, IPO calls 123456544 you end up on the remote site calling extn 544 wich does not answer, you will be diverted to the local vm server in vm box 544.

the call is made through the ISDN with a LCR. because we do not have any voice channel available the LCR is always going to dial by ISDN and the DDi of the particular user.

the issue is that the ext of remote users match with LCR shorcodes so we might be able to rick the system with the short code but we are no the same result with data channels, so it looks for open data channels that we have and checks for available VCM channels and there is where we are getting the dial tone.

Thank you all for the replies:

I tried the shorcodes but we are loosing the status for the remote users. we will keep up trying until we get a positive result. I will let you know the results.

janni78 is correct with regards to the multiple VM. But so is kristiandg.

You can technically have multiple VMs in an SCN but it will not be supported by Avaya! If you have an SCN you must have 1 centralized VMPro. It says it in the manual in black & white.

The reason is this: remember the DT phones (ppl in US won't), calling from a DT to anything else to get it to go to their VM you had to press the VMAIL button. It would not go on no answer. This was a feature of the Visible Voice. Although this doesn't exist now with the DS phones and calls go on no answer, the VV will be reintroduced in v4.0/4.1 so the stance is still the 1 VM in SCN.

It's like a lot of things with the IPO. Multiple VMs will work perfectly well in most scenarios but it was not designed to work that way by Avaya so if you have problems, or in a newer version if it stops working although it's working now, then Avaya will always tell you that it never has and probably never will be supported. That's their get out clause.
