Hi all,

I am new to SCN and have a question regarding configuration. I have 3 sites all connected via VPN, and an IP Office at each site.

Each site has a 3 digit extension range and all are similar...x221-x270, replicating the extension layout of their previous Norstar systems. Each site absolutely contains extension numbers that are the same as the other sites.

Using SCN, will I have to go to 4 digit extension numbering, or is it possible to program a routing code per location... for example, location A would be accessed by dialing 8, then dialing the 3 digit extension (8221), even though the internal extension numbers at the site remain the same. Location B would use 7, and Location C would use 6.

Let me know your thoughts or alternative solutions!

Thanks!!!!

In SCN you need have 100% unique numbering, so you need to go 4 digits extn.
A less attractive solution would be SIP trunks between the sites, that way you could "cheat" with prefix numbers for each site.

Kind regards

Gunnar

You need to use 4 digit dial plan or change the phone numbers, I would go for the last option despite customer demand.
They will learn the new number plan quick enough unless they employed monkeys...
