I have 2 ip office systems that used to have SCN enabled. Since a few nights ago, they can inter office dial US but we cannot dial THEM!

Remote side- ip office 406v2 ver 3.2.69- ip address on 192.168.239.x/24 subnet
Main Site- ip office 412 ver 3.2.69- ip address on 192.168.1.x/24 subnet

A few nights ago, i moved the ip office on the remote side to its own VLAN because the number of collisions it was causing on our network was slowing the user traffic. It was moved successfully. I then changed the IP trunk line to point to the new IP address of the remote side from the primary site. I can ping the 406 from the main site, i can manage the 406 from the PC running manager on the main site, and they can interoffice dial US, but cannot dial them. I have deleted the ip trunk and recreated it at the main site; i have also deleted the ip route from the main site to the remote site. I added a shortcode to be able to dial them, and i was able to restore functionality of interoffice dialing. HOWEVER- i cannot see the called party's caller ID information when i call them, but they can see my caller id info when they call me! the calls in question are from donkey kong to ext 313 and bugsy seagal to ext 325. I am attaching a trace below:

Hmmmm, why not export all users on both sites, delete them from the system(s) and import back, will take but a few moments to do and if your other testing holds out they should all work again.

OK....perhaps it is a corrupted configuration then? :)

i have never done an export. Ooh!

It may just be corrupted, hence the reason i am dilligent about backing up a config at least once a week, or when changes are made.

I will look into it and see what i need to do. Thanks for the suggestion!

Run a wireshark, and filter it for traffic on the AVRIP port.

It'll probably be relatively quick to tell which exten is blocking the transmission

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

i have been unable to run the wireshark traces as that laptop went kaput last time i fired up wireshark. However, i do remember seeing AVRIP traffic in monitor.

i believe i may have actually found the issue, and may have a fix for it, but i still need to test my theory.

In the IPO 406 AND 412 i need to add explicit routes to the subnets where the IPOs are located- not just add one route and expect packets to be forwarded to the adjacent VLAN via routing protocols or layer 3 switching, but rather, the IPO NEEDS routes to the IPO On the far end (406 to the 412 needs 192.168.2.0 via 192.168.2.1; 192.168.1.0 via 192.168.239.1 and 192.168.2.1, and the 412 needs routes in reverse). While i run MPLS and my network has propagated via the routing protocol to both near and far end devices, the IPO needed help in getting to routes via the layer 3 switch and the router. i did this by adding routes to EVERYWHERE! i have done the same on the 412 side, and this has already helped me to fix an issue i was having with the phone manager application i had not mentioned: i could not get the application to work for the users on the 406. once i added these routes, they were able to connect successfully.

The weird part is that i was able to connect to the ipo 406 via the phone manager application from the 412's subnet (IPO 412- 192.168.1.0; IPO 406- 192.168.239.0) without any issue ALL ALONG without adding the routes i mentioned above. it is too late on a friday for me to go testing rebooting the IPO at this time to see if we get our caller ID back on the 412 side right now, so i will report back as soon as i have something. Thanks for your help!

Beets? Yes! Ask me how I feel about Beets! I like Beets!

Sounds like a networking issue afterall :) one 0.0.0.0 route would work if all other subnets are via the same gateway :)
