Hi there. I'm having an issue with one leg on a SCN setup. All sites have been working but we were experiencing some voice quality issues across the WAN. One suggestion was to put the 412 at the main site onto the router (via an internal switch on the router) to bypass all of the local traffic that was on their network.

The main site has a 412. The two remote sites that are working are 406v2 systems. All of the previous sites use digital phones.

The third remote is an IP500 using nothing but IP telephones. The phones are on a different VLAN than the IP500 and have been since the system was originally installed over a year ago.

I have a default route of 0.0.0.0 subnet 0.0.0.0 and gateway of 10.240.3.61 on the IP500 with everything directed to LAN1.

The other sites have similar routes with everything directed to LAN1 but with correct gateways. The IP line form on the IP500 is set correctly to the IP412's address and vice versa.

When we changed the 406v2 locations both of them immediately came up. The IP500 location will not.

I have also tried putting a 'direct' IP route for the 412 and 500 in each respective machine but that doesn't matter.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Yes. It is licensed, has VCM channels, and has been working.

The problem occurred when we moved the IP Office at the central site (the 412) to a different IP address. On the IP500 I changed the IP trunk to reflect the new 412 address and changed the IP route. (Although I did have a 0.0.0.0 route as mentioned above that was directed to LAN1 on the IP500 as well.)

I have checked the 412's IP trunks and the IP addresses for the two 406 units and the one IP500 system and those are all correct.

can you ping the ip500 from one of the 406's or 412. you can do this via the system status app. i would expect that the data it person will need to add routes into routers to see both vlans. which reminds me why have the phones and ip500 on different vlans. that just makes the router at that site work even harder. best to have the ip500 lan1 port and phones on the same vlan and then if needed the Wan or lan2 port as the "management" port

jconrad0305 is right
There must be a routing problem

The ipo must be in the same vlan where the phones are

Actually the problem has been resolved. Believe it or not Tier III suggested that I program the IP500 (that was one of the remote systems) from scratch and submit the translations to the system. The AVRip packets weren't flowing between the two systems.

I recreated the translations, submitted them, and it worked immediately. Odd...

It's about to come out in a Tech Tip.
