SCH5590 Not enough licenses? Trying to add PRI TIE Loop

Brand new NTRB20AA TMDI card in Option 11c Rls 25.30. I'm trying to add a PRI TIE loop to a Cisco 3600 series router for VOIP.

Add PRI Card:

LD 17
REQ CHG
TYPE CFN

PRI 04

Add D-channel interface:

LD 17
REQ CHG
TYPE ADAN

Is there a better way to configure this or to circumvent this problem? I currently have 2 TMDI cards running PRI to telco, 1 running DTI to fax server and this new one as PRI to interface into VOIP gateway.

Or I simply need to buy another license? What is curious is why my TMDI D-Channels are taken up but none of my DCH AVAIL are used.

tmdi d channels is what u are looking for and you hav eused all the 2 you got ...

do u have 2 other PRIs existing
get hold of a vendor to get the authcodes for more tmdi d channels

dch's come 80 users per lic, tmdi's don't. just another nortel way to say i love you. like hawk said, you will need to get an upgrade from your vendor.

I called my vendor and they told me I need the NTBK51BA Downloadable D-channel daughterboard. Is this true? Or do I also need a license keycode purchased?

as i said, get hold of your nortel vendor and ask them to get additional TMDI D channels ... + nortel also charges a software fee to generate keycodes ...

there is no workaround for this ...if that is what you are getting at

YES, I UNDERSTAND THERE IS NO WORK-AROUND EXCEPT TO RUN THIS CIRCUIT STRAIGHT DTI T1. However, here's what I found out...

Ok, there was some confusion with the parties I spoke with including my Nortel vendor. Apparently the daughterboard is only required if one is using a NTAK09 DTI/PRI circuit card. The NTRB21 DTI/PRI TMDI card has the functionality built-in. According to one source, the codes are free at one point but must be requested through the switch maintenance provider (e.g., Norstan, NextiraOne, etc.).

I opened a service request with my maintenance provider and awaiting answer. I will update the forum once I have the information. Thanks everyone.
