I have a customer who has some sip trunks from The Voice Factory, there is an issue when a user has a DDI number diverted back out to another number. The call connects ok but no speech, the SIP provider has added the following notes,
“The issue is simple, on the original inbound call to the PBX, we don't receive any RTP from the PBX, so we can't forward our RTP to the PBX because we don't know where to send it to.
Then when the second call is set up, the PBX can't forward the RTP to the PSTN because the PBX never received the RTP from us.
In order for this to work, the PBX needs to send us some RTP before the redirect happens, this could just be dead air for all we care, we just need an RTP stream returned to us so that we know where to send our RTP to. Can you ask the PBX engineers whether this can be done or not?”
Can anyone advise if this is something we can do?
