I am having a dialplan conflict it appears. I have incoming DID's/Ported numbers that begin with "8" and "9", so when I put in my received digits for the Target lines, I am forced to use a different number for dialing out.(ie: anything other than 8 or 9). Is there a way around this?...or do they have to start dialing out with a 7? Also, this system is going to eventually be VoIP to a BCM 50.....if that will make a difference. Thanks in advance.

No it wont make a difference. That is always a problem when you have recived numbers that start with a 9 it takes away the 9 for routing but you can look down the ported numbers and see if going to say from 4 digits to 5 or more will open up the 9. If so have the Phone company change the recived digits to the leingth that will work for you. That would mean reprogram the target lines.

You could ask the Telco to send you more or less digits to avoid conflict with your 8 and 9 OR ask them to do digit translation or sometime called digit mainpulation.Instead of sending you the real number like 647-238-XXXX they would send you something like 1000,1001 etc.
And i suggest you use 4 digits DN specially if your going to network many bcm's.

The way we handle this is to always ask the telco to send 10 digits (assuming you are in north america). That way you can look at all the numbers you have had ported and find the number of digits that are consistent and don't cause any conflicts. If, it's say, the 8th digit from the end of the string, set your public received number to 8 and program your target lines accordingly. As long as you receive equal to or more digits than you are getting from the telco, you're fine.

It's unusual to not find something you can't use, but if that happens, then you will have to ask for digit manipulation from the telco. They really love doing that too.

A year ago, I would have been stunned by the fact that there even exists a conflict, due to the simple fact that one is incoming and other is outgoing.....however....oh well.

I actually waited on the target line programming, just for that reason....turns out it didn't matter.

I considered a different number of digits, but it would have been MUCH easier for me to simply have the ported numbers(all begin with 9)have DNIS on them. I requested that this morning and you would have thought I asked them to sit naked in the parking lot. Not only are they acting as if it can't be done, but now they are telling me that there is a re-occurring charge each month to have the numbers sent to me differently. I have requested this at least 10 times in 10 years and never had such a struggle. Given all that, I just continued the programming and set the dial out code to 7. It was too late in the game when I realized the snafu. I appreciate everyone's input. I'm sure I'll need you more soon, as we are installing the 400 thursday and they need it voip to a 50 soon, and I have never done that. Thanks again ....wish me luck!

Is there a way to have mailboxes be able to toggle between english/spanish? If a user has their mailbox primary greeting set in english and their alt greeting in spanish and a caller hits that mailbox, is there a code that can be pressed that will allow the caller to hear the greeting in spanish?
