Is there a way to route a call based on the caller id received, i have an issue where i have some people trying to fax one of our DID's on our PRI, problem is, when they call the number(which works with anyone else) they go to the main number...can i define in manager when it sees this caller id tell it to go to that ext?

Incoming call route allows you to enter the cli along with the ddi. so you would have the main incoming route with the main ddi and a matching route with the ddi but also with the cli

Then there is something else happening im sure, cause I can call in and it hits the fax machine no problem.

So to clarify: You have a fax DDI number which works fine for everyone bar this 1 customer.

when they call in it routes to the main group (the Catchall - Any Voice destination).

This means that either they are ringing the wrong number or the incoming digits aren't matching your ICR.

To resolve you will need to either run a trace - ISDN - and watch this call coming in, or simply guess that they are sending in extra digits and create an ICR to allow for this, e.g. currently you might have 1234 Dest FAX, create 51234, 651234, 7651234, etc, etc.

is your incoming call route set to use ANY service or ANY VOICE??
are they faxing from an analog line or another ISDN line?
What's your locale, North America has a fixed numbering plan with 3 digit area code and 7 digit numbers (all Europeans area getting envious now) so if you are in that locale then it is not a length of number incompatibility.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Well, the real issue is with the telco, apparently the line is an analogue line at the location, but they have it ported to our PRI too, but only locally. Most people dont fax from right down the road, but anyone within that prefix has to dial LD to get the analogue number...this is how it was explained to me...im not sure i beleive it.

transfer the calls to the fax machine, recieve the fax. call them back and tell them what the correct fax number is. simples. :)

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.
