Is this possible? MICS switch.
User states that when his private line rings, if he is on phone or RNA, the line rolls to the main number. The main number rings all of the phones in the branch.
AT&T came into the branch and made some changes (he does not know what) while I was on vacation and his phone does not roll anymore.
Any idea how this was setup?

Thanks

Sounds like a hunt issue, and shouldn't have required ATT to dispatch anyone to fix it. Are you using analog lines, or a PRI? Is it working correctly now?

If his private line is truly that, and you don't want anyone programmed to "back him up" when he is out of the office, just program that line as private to his extension.

Asre you sure that it as now coming in on the main number or on the intercom buttons on the phones?

If the call drops off the private line then re-appears on the main number the customer had a forward no answer as a feature on the private line and that feature got dropped.

If the call still appeared on the private line but then also rang all around the office I would look at the following (there may be more but this is a starting point) There may have been a hunt group with all of the office phones assigned to it that your customer had forward no answer set to ring to after x rings (take a look at hunt groups and see if there is a hunt group that has most of the office as members.)

Good luck

Lines 1 thru 4 are the branch lines. Line 27 is his private line. On the branch phones, Lines 1-4 are App & Ring, with line 27 as App only. On his set, it is the opposite. I checked his set and it was not setup to roll anywhere. In Capabilites, I can only roll to another extention.

correct. ask the customer how the phone actually looked when the roll occured. was the call on line 27 or line 1?

Right. Make sure his set is forwarded to vm on no answer/busy, and not another ext, and his set is programmed as prime for that line. Setting that line to private would likely delete it from the other extensions in the branch.

Rik He wants it to roll to the rest of the office. we just need to figure out how they had done it originally.

Doh. Thanks, Jerry.

I was reading that the wrong way. It does sound like the CO had fwd no ans on the private line to line1.

If you'd rather not involve ATT again, you could make the prime for that line a Hunt Group extension, and program the hunt group as broadcast to the ext's you want to ring. That way, calls transferred to his ext would go to his vm from cfna, and calls on his private line would DRT to the hunt group. You may need to play with those timers to get it to work correctly.

Hunt Groups... What sw rev is the MICS?

I'll bet AT&T had his private # Hunt/CFNA to the main #.

Both were my initial responses but until he answers how the Calls originally appeared on the other phones in his office. I think it is more than likely that it was Forwarded No Answer from line 27 to the main listed number (the method I normally recommend for private copper numbers is to forward busy to the main listed number so that when that line is busy it goes to the attendent but I digress) So F/NA would be my guess. Setting up hunt group answer with the line appearing on all of the other stations won't work since they will not ring if they have a line appearance.

DING!DING!DING! We have a winner!

Found out that Line 27 was RCF to Line 1 by AT&T. Still cant figure out why it was taken off though.

Thanks guys
