The scenario is we have a customer that we are upgrading from 6.0 to 11.0
The have Ip500 and 2 dg30 and 1 analog 16 expansion units.

We are going to replace the IP500 with a V2 configured at 11.0 already.
The question is what happens to expansion modules if we just plug them in the new IP500 v2.

I know or am guessing they will upgrade to 11.0 but the release notes say that these need to upgraded to 8.1.59 or higher before it can upgrade to 11.0.

So will there be issue if we don't do the step upgrade to expand the memory on those boxes/ I am thinking yes and we should change the working directory in manger to 9.0 bin files and upgrade modules that way then go to 11.0.

Any guidance would be appreciated

I usually upgrade the old chassis 6.0.- 7.0 - 9.0 then take the config and move it to the new chassis on R11 and so far (knocking on wood here) no problems.

You just have to adjust the voicemail password length and the "advertise callee ..." and you should be good.
