When I try to render the movie so I can preview it, I get the following message:
"An error occured while making the movie.
Codec Compression error.
This codec may not be able to support the requested frame size, or there may be a hardware or memory problem."

Then I press "OK" and get the message:
"Error writing file(diskfull?)."

By the way I'm using resolution 320x240. And I have 1 gig of hard drive left.
Thanks for your help.

Pedro...
What version of Premiere are you running?
How long is your movie?
What compression did you use on capture?

B-) "Who's that guy with the shades... What's he trying to prove!”

I'm running version 6.0.
The Movie is about 30 seconds, and I'm not quite sure about compression, although I think I used NO compression setting.

Was your capture size 320*240?
Did you capture this clip through Premiere or with ATI's capture utility?
Are you sure all your projects settings are the same? Output & preview?

BTW... Thought this was done since you were ready to dump to tape!

Catch you later,

"Who's that guy with the shades... What's he trying to prove!”

I captured it all with Adobe Premier.
Apparently, my AIW video card has trouble capturing from a composite source, producing very bad quality.

I'm not really ready to dump to tape yet. Right now I'm just making tests and playing around with the videos.

Well... I never could get my AIW to capture from within Premiere, and I've allways captured through ATI's own capture utility and then imported the files in Premiere. Another reason is that, up to 5.1c, I doubt that would have changed in 6.0, Premiere has had a big problem with the AIW's default compression VCR2.0. You have to use another compression. If you want to go that route, at least to test this out, I'm willing to help you out... But it will cost you stars!
Just jokin'!

So... Want to try this?

B-) "Who's that guy with the shades... What's he trying to prove!”

Sure!
Specially now that I have discovered why I wasn't able to capture with AIW. The problem was that composite video wasn't set to NTSC. Anyways, it's all fixed now. Except that although I hear the audio while capturing, the audio doesn't play when I play the video or open it on Premier.
So, please help me get through all this and you shall be rewarded.

Bring on the tips!!!

Is your tuner set up in AIW?

So Pedro... What's up?

B-) "Who's that guy with the shades... What's he trying to prove!”

Yes, the tuner is set up.
I have been able to capture with the ATI software, but I'm not getting the sound when I capture.

Do you have ICQ, so we could discuss more promptly ???
If so, add me: 35474838

NO! I don't and I'm trying to handle 3 otherr threads on the Flash forum at the moment. So hang on, I'll be back shortly!

Is the audio output from the AIW going into the input of your sound card. In other words you see tv picture but no sound comin' out of your speakers?

B-)

Alright, the set up was okay before..
but never mind, I figured out what was wrong.

Now I can only hear sound on 1 side of the speaker, but that's because my VCR is not HI-FI, and the sound input on ATI has left and right. Oh well, good enough I guess...
Let me see what else I'll have problem with...

You should do this testing with Ati's tv tuner!
Cable pluged in?
From the tv tuner you should get sound on both speakers regardless of the vcr!

I followed your instructions on the thread bellow on how to output to the VCR. I set the resolution, made the hookup, etc. What I couldn't do was set the display to TV in the settings tab. That's because that option is faded out. Now is it really necessary to have that option for the dumping to work.

Well, I tried to output and it didn't work.
I'm starting to get desperate now.
HELP!!!!

Make sure your output from the AIW is plugged into the input of the vcr, and even better, that the vcr is switched on before you boot up the computer! That's the only way the television output icon will be available. And no it won't work if you can't get it up to this stage!

Keep on trying... It works for me! I know how frustrating this is... I've been there!

Ok, so I got the TV option to work, but the output to the VCR still won't work....
