Hello,

Does anyone know how call recordings are named? We have a interest in giving these recordings specific names when they are created. For an example referenceid_date.wav.
Is this possible with the default setup(IPO, VMPro) or do I need some specific software? Can TAPI do this?

Thank you!

No, No, and No.

You will need to create your own app that reads the Meta header from the original WAV file and create your own file structure.

Also, the archive WAV files are encoded and can only be listened to within the contact store web interface.

Let me explain my scenario.

A call comes in through a VM Pro flow. We collect a reference id, write it to the db. We also record the call.
Afterwards, we would like to match a recording with a reference id stored in the db inside a webinterface.

If we manage to rename the call recordings so that they include the reference id we can match them easily.
You're saying this is impossible with that setup?

Grab a call recording (the WAV file) and open it in notepad. Look at the top of the file. You will see all the information about the call in there.

Also for USD799 you can buy Ximasofts Chronicall Call recoding module and this gives you their Cradle to Grave interface to search and listen to calls.

Why reinvent the wheel unless you intend to embed this into your own application?

I see, however when looking at this wav header. There is no reference id, I guess this is like SMDR data?
I need the reference id to bind the recording to a call.

And yes we want to imbed this feature in our webb application so that our agents can listen to previous recording from the same number.

You will need to create your own call ID. Avaya just do this in SSA as a number from 1 up since its last reboot.

there is no unique call ID recorded by the switch, apart from the calls GUID
