Has anyone set up a short code so that a user can call into the embedded vm auto attendant from the outside and record the greetings, *8101, etc? With * not defined in the AA you get an error; I set * to dial by number just to see if that worked and it doesn't. I built short code 77XX identical to the *81XX code, dialed 7701 when the AA answered but it just routed me to the path defined on the 1 key.

I havent tried this but have you tried to make * do a normal transfer to *8101

*8401
Auto Attendant
AA:name of aa.4

.1 is for *8101
.2 is for *8201
.3 is for *8301
.4 is for *8401

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Thanks for the help. I built an AA with blind transfers for 1, 2, 3 and 4 to go to the appropiate short code, ie; *8101, *8201, etc. In the main AA I sent * to the AA I built for the recordings. Worked great.
