My client has 5 SCN locations and only one public IP address.. My dumb question is: Can remote H323 IP phones(that belong to different locations) register through one IP office controller?

So we will need one public IP address per location then :(

Andy, i do nto understand why not?
Yes they will be registered to that one site but then they can still hotdesk across the SCN.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It's the licencing, as it's licenced per user, I did try it but it didn't work.. having said that it may have been just because remote extns doesn't work very well anyway :)

But that is just a part of good preparation and put all the licenses on one system.
I would not put all systems on the outside world but only one.
Less hassle too :)

You would also need to create all the users on the single system too Peter :)

Yes but that is not a problem in a proper SCN.
First i wanted to say no about the users but we are running the server edition where this is the case :)

Excellent! But why would I need to add all SCN users on one system? Isn't the system smart enough to hot desk after registration to the proper location?

In order to hotdesk the handset would need to first register with the system, to register as a remote extn it needs an H323 extn and a user both set as remote worker.... which requires a licence to do. So unless all the extns, user and licences are all on that single system it isn't going to work (licences do not carry across systems) :)

Let's not forget SCN is just a linking of systems to give a limited degree of unfified features, it does not give full functioning across all the systems as though it was a single large system :)

Yes, License license license .. lol
Thank you so much!

It never used to be like that, it used to be much less licencing and mainly hardware, then they realised they make more money licencing things, since then they have licenced the sh1t out of things lol :)

Exactly! Next generation IPO will require a license to enter a license .. lol
