Remote SIP Phones on release 8.1

I have got a customer that has release 8.1. I am trying to set up some remote users for them via SIP phones. I have 10 3rd party IP endpoint licenses. The phones are Polycom SoundPoint IP 331. I am able to get them to register on site, but when I am off site and replace the IPO on site IP address with the public one pointed to the IPO I am unable to get it to register. I see it trying to register via Monitor but something is holding it up. In monitor it says something about no element found. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
You don't have your IP Office on the WAN...do you? Publicly available?

It's not on the WAN port, but there is a public IP address pointed to the IP address that is assigned to LAN 1

I assume you're port forwarded all the required ports for SIP, yeah?

If I remember correctly, outside extension SIP traversal dosen't work right unless it's on a VPN. Had an issue with that on the one-x software for mobiles before.
