remote monitoring of mailbox

secy has PDN 2235 with associated mailbox. One day a week she sits at another desk with PDN 2232. She also has an appearance of 2235 on the PDN 2232 phone, as everyone calls her on 2235. (changing PDN 2232 to 2235 is not an option). If she is sitting at PDN 2232 and gets a voicemail on 2235 (again, she only gets calls on 2235) how can I set up her remote notification on 2232 to let her know she's got a voicemail on 2235? there is no mailbox on 2232, by the way. No matter what I try I can't get it to work. I've tried XMWK, RMWK, RMMO, etc. and still can't figure it out. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

build remote notification cos for her mb, the user can change the schedule, i have doctors with remote notificaion to cell phones, they turn it off and on without a problem. for example, i get a msg on ext 3000, the vm will call 2000 to tell me i have a msg. at which timei can play it. other then that you can turn on a secondary lamp but then people don't know whic mb to check

we don't have mermail. I just want her to get the notification on her secondary set when she has a message in her mailbox. I know it can be done but I'm missing a step somewhere and can't figure it out. Her primary ext 2235 is an M2317 and the secondary set she uses one day a week (2232, which has an SCN of 2235 on it) is an M2616. I know I can put a remote message waiting light on the M2616 but like I said I'm missing something somewhere and can't get it to work. thanks for your help.

you can still build a menu serv in call pilot. and you can have a secondary dn to notify in cp but she still will not know which box to check. if you can have separate mw lamps for two different extensions on the same phone. please post the config. i've never seen it. of course i've only been doing nortel 25 years. still learning

There is a way to do it but I'm missing something. The feature is called Message Waiting Indicator by Directory Number but I still can't seem to get it to work for this one phone....what I'm really hoping to do is, since there's no mailbox on her 2232 DN (which she only uses one day a week when she sits at that phone), have x2232's MWK light when she has a message in her regular mailbox, which is x2235. thanks for your help.

I think I may have figured out the answer to my own question. The person I'm trying to set this up for says her RMWK key just stays lit. The NTP says "when programmed, the RMWK starts flashing if any new voice message arrives for the associated mailbox DN; if not, the RMWK remains steadily lit. To cancel the RMWK function, press the RMWK when it is lit or flashing." It sounds like the RMWK key stays ON if she has no messages in the mailbox she's monitoring. If anyone is familiar with remote monitoring please confirm this for me. She is the secretary to a VIP and I don't want to be mis-informed. Thanks in advance for your help.

did NOT fix my own problem after all. x2235 is an M2317 with mailbox; x2232 is an M2616 with no mailbox but does have an appearance of x2235. I programmed x2232 with LMPX in CLS (although LMPX does not show up in the CLS when I printed it). Anyway, I changed the MWK key (key 6) on x2232 to RMWK xxxx 2235 and made BOTH 2232 and 2235 RMMA in the CLS. When I leave a message in mailbox 2235 the RMWK key on x2232 is NOT coming on. Any suggestions? Or should I just cut my losses and give up trying to make this work?

no-one has used the remote MWK key or knows how to set it up? Please let me clarify that I am NOT talking about Remote Notification, in which my voicemail calls my cell, my pager, etc. I mean a KEY that I can put on phone A that will indicate when I have messages on phone B.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

no i haven't seen a way to do that, a mik mck key is not the answer, i can light or turn off a mwk with those but as far as normal software, not today. if you put an analog copy of her number in loc 2, with just a neon lamp on it, she will know when she has a call. or do remote notification to loc 2, which would cause the mail to call her when she had a mail.

there is a way. It's new with 25.40 I think. Message Waiting Indicator By Directory Number. You can monitor multiple mailboxes one set, monitor a mailbox on a remote set, etc. There's quite a few set parameter changes involved and the NTP isn't crystal clear on what exactly these changes do and the bottom line is I'm still not getting it to work. I'll just re-read the chapter for the 90th time and can hopefully catch what I'm missing. thanks for your help anyway.
