Hi there,
I have an avaya IPO500v2 8.1.73, Combo-Card.
i have SIP trunks with a company called Comwave.

Under RAS/DialIn i have the extension set to 299.
Under Users, the RemoteManager has a password that i changed and i'm using it to DialIn.
Under System/LAN1/DHCP Mode i have selected DialIn. Number of DHCP IP addresses (2). Under the same tab Advanced i have the pool size set to 4.
I have a DID/Incoming Call Route going to 299.

Everytime i dial-in using an analog line with my built-in laptop modem i get the tow modem to talk but the connection never happen.
Error: 678 The remote computer did not respond.

Username:RemoteManager
Password:Mypassword
Phone: DID number

Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks

You can't use SIP for dial in, it just can't support data at the speed required :)

Thanks amriddle01
So is there an alternative to remote login with SIP? can i configure it somewhere within the IPO?
I know that we can do fax over sip on IPO and fax is point to point modem connection...

Fax runs much slower than a modem will attempt, 9-15k typically and a modem wants to run up 40k+. You will need to do port forwarding on their router or use Logmein or similar loaded onto a server/PC. If you do port forwarding tie it down to your IP range only :)

We use Logmein.com and this works great except if you have a uc module then you would need to load manager onto a pc that is connected to the customers network and connect through the pc to the ip office

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

Port forwarding is also very good, and very quick when you use the "Known Units" in Manager :)
