Hello to all,

I'm trying to connect using the IP Office manager to an IP Office remotly.

What options do I have to do this?

I'm investigating the posibility of connecting using a public IP, is this possible? What ports do I need to forward to do this?

I have also been reading about the option of connecting by RAS, can somebody explain to me this option?

Looking foward to your comments.

Do not go down that path, it's the road to complete disaster!
Connected your IPO directly to the Internet is pure madness.

Options you could look into:
- VPN
- Remote computer with Logmein/TeamViewer, or similar.

Kind regards

Gunnar

What Gunnaro said - ye gods, no. Put the management software on a PC on the same network as the server. Put a VPN gateway in front of that. Use the VPN gateway to control remote access to the system. Do NOT put public addresses on the server or PC.

Or create a rule on the firewall that is locked down to just the public IP address of your office and then NAT so that when you enter the public IP address of the customers site into Manager it finds the phone system. Never had any issues doing this over the past 5 or 6 years.

Typically if you can do that you don't need to ask the question, no offence intended :)

thanks to all

Pepp77, by creating a rule on the firewall you mean forwarding ports to the local IP of the IP Office?
