I have an IP Office set up with embedded v-mail. The users wanted to be able to check their messages remotely so I set up an incoming call route pointing to an auto attendent. I also programmed a short code using *99 for voice mail collect. When I call the "v-mail DID" there is dead air. I press * (which transfers to *99) and it will ask for the mailbox number and password. So it does work but no quite right. How do I make the Auto Attendant message come on after the v-mail DID is dialed?

do you really require the extra step of having to enter *99?

why not just have your DID point straight to " Voicemail " in your incoming call route?

I'll have to try it and see what happens.

Will pointing the DID to Voicemail let the caller enter their mailbox number and password?

I just answered my own question looking in the help menu. " Voice mail allows remote mailbox access with Embedded Voicemail, Voicemail Lite and Voicemail Pro. Callers are asked to enter the extension ID of the mailbox required and then the mailbox access code."

Changing the ICR to Voicemail worked. Thanks for the help!
