We are decommissioning a CS1000 (Option 81) that currently has an IBM COTs Signaling Server and MC32s on 7.5. We want to move that Signaling Server/MC32s to another site running 7.5 and install it as a follower for redundancy.

Will the relocated signaling server be a follower of the existing leader in the same node or will it have a new node assigned to it?

How will I address S1 and S2 in the IP phones?

Yes, it will be a follower in the same node. Leave the S1 and S2 addresses as they are. S1 and S2 should always point to the node ip, not the individual ss. You will need to reinstall the linux and patch accordingly, then deploy. Don't even try to deploy that ss as it is, a fresh linux install should be used.

Thanks KC, so how does the redundancy work? If the leader goes down, the phones auto reregister to the follower?

They register to the node, not the individual ss. Both ss are in the same node

With a leader and follower, your phones will load balance, half will be on the primary and half will be on the follower. If one fails, the phones will re-reg to the one that's up.
