Hello,

i have a problem with using NIU2 compactflash and HDU7/1
at the same time as an external backup units.

i am trying the following procedure

physical connections:

NIU 2 is connected to HDU7/1 (with the cable TSR 901 0441/200)
to the slave(upper port) of the HDU7/1

and the switch on the HDU/1 is adjusted to cable selection
(1 off 2 off 3 on)

after these connections

BLEQI:EQU=1-0-60-00;

IOSII:NODE=SYSN,IODEV=FLASH,SUBFS=SYSSUBFS11,BTYPE=ATA;
IOSII:NODE=SYSN,IODEV=HDU7,SUBFS=SYSSUBFS21,BTYPE=ATA;

FICRI:SUBFS:SYSSUBFS11,SIZE=120;
FICRI:SUBFS:SYSSUBFS21,SIZE=120;

FIMOI:SUBFS=SYSSUBFS11;
FIMOI:SUBFS=SYSSUBFS21;

BLEQE:EQU=1-0-60-00,ALLFM=YES;

When i try to use this procedure

after sending

IOSII:NODE=SYSN,IODEV=HDU7,SUBFS=SYSSUBFS21,BTYPE=ATA;

it says NO DISC IS CONNECTED

HDU7/1 and CF are working standalone(as a master)....
but not together a MASTER/SLAVE

does anyone tried this or know the solution..
i am waiting for your helps.....

It's not possible .
Both rels must be on master ATA disk (in this case the CF).
If CF card is used this is always tha master ata disk.

OR you can drop the CF and have 2 HDU7/1. .
One master ata disk and one slave .

The backup of slave disk is then utilized with FISBI .

According to Ericsson FISBI shall be supported
if both disks is connected to one NIU2 (the SYSN).
(master and slave on same ata bus) .
Slave is defined as safety backup filesystem.

FICPI must be used copying REL's between disks on
separate NIU2 cards .(backup , this works fine)

AS for the splitting of REL1 and REL2
i wouldn't trust it unless it's documented .

Hello Jazaya,

Try strapping HDU7/1 CSEL selection on-off-on.

MDsup

Sorry, my strapping is wrong!!!Should be (1 off 2 off 3 on)

I have done this in my lab-system this morning and it
works fine.
Maybe there is somthing wrong with the HDU7/1??
