I finaly gave up dealing with Win 8 and reformatted my Dell laptop. After reinstalling Vista I can't go online anymore. I get the message "Not detection network hardware" and " No Wireless Network Adapter". I had no problems before the change. Could it just be coincidence that my wireless hardware failed at the very moment I reinstalled Vista? I don't see it anyware in hardware manager either. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hank

Not really sure why you posted this in the windows 95/08 forum, and not the windows vista, or general hardware, but ok. Did you reload all the dell drivers for your laptop? Most of the drivers on the Vista disk won't work, and you need to get the drivers for your model at dell.com

Ya, I numbed it on the forum. Saw it after I posted and copied to Vista.
I thought I had used all of the Dell reinstallation disks but I'm not sure. I loaded e
3 disks but they were vague. One did say Drivers but not which ones. I reloaded the Vista disk again and it did see the hardware this time but can't find the driver on any of the disks I've used search of my office and see if I can come up with another disk. Thanks for the help so far. I'll go on a top to bottom search of my office to see if I can come up with another disk. Thanks for the help. Hank

Probably time to use another machine to download the drivers from the Dell download site to another machine and use thumb drive to transfer them. Your service tag on the laptop will get you to the proper set of drivers although it is possible you'll have more available than you'll need.
