i have some DID numbers that terminate to VDN-extensions, When a call comes in externally to one of these extension i have pointed them to a differnt extension. What i am looking to do now is point all internal calls to these extensions to the same extension i am pointing the external calls too. The way i have explained it might be confusing so i will try to map it for you.

DID Number 123-4567 comes into our switch, instead of routing to ext 4567(VDN) i have it going to 4500. What i am trying to do now is when somebody dials ext 4567(VDN) internally i would like it to point to ext 4500 instead. Seeing as these are vdn's i didn't see a way of SAC'ing them or call forwarding them, I tried to use the ARS digit-conversion tables, but that didn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Insert a new step in the vector the says 'route to number 4500 with coverage y unconditionally'.

Thanks 4merAvaya,

I didn't want to do it that way, because i want to eventually change that VDN-extension to a hunt-group extension, with the only access to the hunt-group though a coverage path (both internally and externally) being through the main VDN, but want the hunt-group extension to be DID accessible as a backup incase something happens to our main VDN. Here is what i ultimately want to accomplish.

123-4567 & extension 4567 directs you to our main VDN, which then by selecting the option, routes you to a station, this station will be S.A.C.’ed with the coverage-path the main hunt-group, which will access both IVR's. Now if we want to take an IVR off line, i want to change the coverage-path of the phone to point a hunt-group of the working IVR. I have tried using coverage path with the main hunt-group but can’t get he hunt-group to S.A.C the calls, so it still trys to access both IVRs , which means sometimes it sends the call to the downed IVR. I want the hunt-group numbers to be in our DID numbering range so I can route calls directly to each IVR for troubleshooting purposes and as a backup plan incase the main VDN goes down.

Try this, it worked for me.

With command "change uniform 4567" ,tab to the insert digits and put 555, or some other dummy 3 digit number not used in your dial plan. For the net field put in ars. Then use the command "change ars digit 555 (or whatever numbers you used on the uniform dial plan insert field). On the matching pattern field type in 5554567. For Min put 7 for Max put 7. For Del put 7 and for Replacement string put 4500 and for the Net field put ext. Now when someone calls 4567 internally the system will check the Uniform Dial plan page and insert 555 and then check the ars conversion page and delete all seven digits 5554567 and replace those digits with 4500 and ring that extension. There might be a less kludgey way to accomplish this, but it has worked for me. If anyone has a better way let us know.

I don't have the Change uniform Command option.
