I have a red light on the top of my first column (61C). What does it mean?

Column Alarm

(you have to investigate the system to see the problem)

You probably have a power supply out like a ring generator or one is turned off. Have your vendor check if nothing is obvious. Could also be your fans in the pedestal

That indicates a problem found by the system monitor.

Some things you can check include:
The pedestal blower
The system monitor TTY port
Make sure each power supply in the column is on

You should see alarms on the TTY associated with the system monitor.

Thanks everyone. I have a call into our vendor. But how do I check what is wrong? Is there some LD I use to check it or is it something I can physically see?

Also is there something I need to do to avoid any further damage?

You can look and see on each shelf and see if all the power supplies on the left side of teh shelf have green lights.

Ok. Checked each shelf in the column has a green indicator on the power. How/where do I check the fans?

bottom front, 2 screws, actually, can you feel air blowing up the column, or just feel/hear the fan down low?

No air. In fact the switch just froze. And now I have no power to the Cores.

Seems like you have a major problem for the cores to have no power.
Whenever you have a red column light, go to

ld 37
stat xsm

Look up all error messages and you'll be able to identify the problem.

pull the xms monitor card at the rear of the col and power cycle..

that's the fastest way to get it up.. if it boots you can trouble shoot the xms without people pounding on the door..
