They're recruiting testers now, but I have a feeling there won't be as many takers as there usually are. Apparently they're playing silly buggers this time

Indeed iposs for a freaking field trial.
Screw them, I quit doing this stupid trials.
Avaya seems to forget that the people who do this trials are doing it to get a good product but Avaya only seems to care about how they look and what kind of rewards they did win (wonder what that is all about)
Indeed, we take the risks running the software on in house system, take on the extra workload of testing and tracing, repeating and reporting issues found (there are plenty). We ask nothing in return.
We do this for Avaya's benefit, so one might assume they would be grateful and give some sort of incentive/reward for doing it......nope they expect us to pay for the privilege....Bollocks to that
I didn't know that, do they demand a FieldTrialler to have a IPOSS?
That is goodbye for the fieldtrials. I'm sorry for Brad, he did the best he can do and sometimes even more.
It's a double whammy as far as I know, IPOSS and paying for any licences given (with "an attractive discount").....yes the licences you get for free with demo kit or included in IPOSS....not for the trials
I think we may be doing Avaya an injustice here. Let's give them a chance to explain. We all know they monitor Tek tips closer than a heart patient watches his pulse. So if we have made an unjustified assertion or inaccurate comment please do correct us. I'm sure it's in the best interests of all parties concerned that we portay your actions in the context they were intended....good or bad
By the looks of it, Bas' going to do the FT all by him self.. Busy Bee
Kind regards
Gunnar

How many FT testers there are worldwide? what a HUGE revenue Avaya will get from making the FT under payment? Insignificant. I would personally to know who had such intelligent idea, if this FT model will be confirmed (you have to pay for license upgrade + IPOSS for all systems you are testing) I will stop partecipating the FT and I suppose many others will do the same, this concept (you pay to work) is too crazy.
nice, let's see how bad the real release then will be if you guys are not testing.
I am out for a while because our company is not big enough and we came too late as they had too many people last time. They might send us an invitation this time and I will decline even if it is for free. they ticked me off last time so this time I for sure will set out. Maybe on R 10 again if they make it worth my while with free licenses then.

i did not have a good experience with the last field trial however I would be willing to participate again and pay for the licenses and IPOSS if Avaya is willing to pay me for my time to find their bugs, decipher the horrible field trial documentation, and figure how to implement the new features because of the lack of previously mentioned documentation.
