Anyone else participating in the R8 beta? We just upgraded all of our systems but weren't able to snag any of the new hardware in beta.

Yes we do.
The new hardware is mostly not available to everyone.
Only new phones are easier to get.
So most of the time you have to wait until GA to get any new hardware.
This is also mentioned in the invite.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Oh, I know how it works, we requested to beta the handsets, etc but drew the short straw.

Did you by chance have any issues installing VMPro on Windows 2008 x86 SP2 (not R2)?

Only on my Windows 7 laptop.
The service refused to start.
It works fine on my server 2003.

Peter,

Is the newVM pro hardware on a card/slot or in a dedicated expansion ?

Thanks,

madwok

Maybe I'm not crazy. What error did you get when starting the service? Was it a C++ library error?

its a card. That is what we really wanted to test.

Which Phones do you mean tlpeter, I am in R8FT, I saw nothing...

hibroth, This time there was nothing new on the handset front, but usually if there is a new handset on offer, its easier to get those in a beta trial than other new hardware. i.e if some day there was a new desk phone and a new IP Office 800, it'd be easier to get your hands on the new desk phone.

I am not sure which error i got but the service refused to start.
But in trials you need to change the system local to UK.

I will but not now.
I am now trying to solve my CCR issues which i cannot get running :)
I get 5 or 6 different errors while i am installing CCR (new or upgrade)

Don't tell me that, Im doing the same thing right now with CCR...

:) let me know if it goes wrong or not.
It happens to me when i actually are installing CCR just before it will open the web browser.
Something with UnexpectedXml something.

I just saw that someone else has the same problem but with a Italian OS and i have a Dutch OS.

I think i am going to report it now.
Although i am trying it on an English OS now.

I have only now got the prerequisites sorted, so once more unto the breach!

VMPro 8.0 runs fine on my Win7b 64bit, also have the apps running on Virtual box on my Win7

But when i see a Win7 or 2k8 then my first thing is disable the UAC setting.

UAC is disabled. The issue seems to be with the install package, not any system setting. The setup runs fine without error, it just doesn't install the correct C++ redistributible package, but only on 2008 Server x86 SP2. We have 2008 R2, 2003 x86 and 2003 x64 servers and they all installed [properly, only the four servers on 2008 Server x86 SP2 had the issue.

I have that turned off straight after installation of the OS :)
