I've followed the information is this thread but I am still having issues getting this up and running. Banging my head against a wall.

Is there a document from Avaya or somewhere on how it should be setup? I can't find anything on R11.1.

I have the certificate installed and I can get IX Workplace to connect and make calls.
However, pressing the voicemail mail gives the error 'no voice mail number has been entered. see your system admin' I can't find where to put the info. The user has a vm passcode.

The J179 are another story. They get stuck on acquiring service...
The login doesn't seem to actually check the password. If I enter the correct passcode I see
the phone connect in Monitor but then a line about it being destroyed. No other information seems interesting about the phone setup.
(I reset this phone while remote, so it hasn't connected locally first which I know is a requirement for H323/VPN phones. Is it here for this? I don't know.)

Any suggestions on how to get this running?

This is the monitor message I see when the phone tries to connect. I am not sure if the TLS message is a concern or not. Some threads say it is no big and should be ignored, but it looks important to me. Obviously it doesn't like some with TLS, but I don't know where to start.

Also, the IX Workspace issue is only on mobile. There is no place for voicemail code like there is on the desktop version.

If I set the SIP proxy on the phone to be TCP and not TLS, the phone connects. Which is interesting. But the IX Workplace is using TLS and works just fine so I would think that the certificate is ok because IX worksplace is using it. I also don't see the phone trying to download 46xxsetting or 46xxspecial in monitor so maybe its not getting the new cert.

Agree it probably a certificate issue to start with. First step would be to factory default the phone and then set the fileserver address after it reboots.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

the 46xxsettings.txt or DHCP option 242. If your using a self-signed cert you cant use https or TLSRVR you must use HTTPSRVR, as you end up in a loop or needing to download the settings file to get the /WebRootCA.crt but you can access the https server because the phone doesn't have the root certificate. (if you clear the phone, the phones very first attempt is via http but you only get 1 shot)
Make sure your cert has the IPO fqdn and the SIP domain
ie -
DNS=ipose.company.com.au, DNS=company.com.au
