I've noticed on phones that have one SCR key and are on a call, if a person calls that extension, a message like "Bob, is on the phone. Please leave a voicemail...." can be heard from CallPilot. I'm trying to duplicate this "...is on the phone" message that callpilot sends out for phones that have MCR or multiple SCR with roll overs. This would come in handy if one of these phones are on a lengthy conference call and would like to let all callers (external and internal) know that they are currently on the phone.

So far I've only tried turning on MSB. The only thing it seems to do is not make the phone ring, but the extension still lights up.

Is this even possible on a phone with multiple extensions?

Thanks in advance!

Look in the mailbox and you should have a place there to check off "callers notified of busy line".

I know what your saying, not sure of implimenting around the way it is designed to work, easy thing to do would be for those lengthy callers, if asking, to forward their set to VM while on a conference.

That only works if all lines are busy, if on the phone, hunt to rollup, on to voicemail, normal greeting will be played.

Hawks, yeah, that parameter is checked in CallPilot. I was hoping that there was a way to make the phone "Busy" so that the callers will get that verbiage. Weird that MSB doesn't do the trick.

bigindian65, forwarding to VM did cross my mind too but I'm assuming the "..is on the phone" wouldn't be heard.

Oh well, thanks anyway. This is just something I've been ponding for a while and finally had the time to experiment today.

Thanks

Sorry I should have read the whole thing I got side tracked.

You could do it on SCR's by changing the set's LHK to 0 if calls roll up from thier SCR on key 0.
As far as MCR's your kinda trying to defeat the purpose of an MCR

Still the MSB will not work as long as that line appears on other phone that are not busy. Sorry!

TAnselm, what you just said made me realize something that I missed:
"Still the MSB will not work as long as that line appears on other phone that are not busy."

The assumption was that the extension was only on one phoneset but had >1 MCR keys on it. Well, the phone that I was testing MSB on was my own and I totally forgot that my extension also rings on the phone/data room phone. So of course it wouldn't work. I would set my phone to Make Set Busy, but when a call came in, it would still ring but on the other phoneset. (DUH) So I tried MSB on a phone that I knew for sure had an extension that rang only on that phoneset but had multiple MCR keys for it's extension. Guess what, IT WORKED!! Turned on MSB and calls go right to voicemail with the "...is on the phone" greeting!!

Awesome!

Thanks for unplugging my memory block!
