"call answering cannot be continue at this time"

Dial new phone (M2008) I setup, after the default 4 rings, instead of going to the voice mail box, a message says "call answering cannot be continued at this time, transferring to an attendant". even if i express message to the phone gives me this message. i have a voice mail box setup in our meridian mail system for this phone. The phone setup CLS has HTA, FNA, MWA and the HUNT 3000 (which is our voice mail). We have a Nortel 61C, rel. 25.4

call answering can not be answered is coming from the mail, either you didn't save the new mb. you didn't record a message. or your cos is bad..not a switch prob.

nothing wrong with the programming. In fact, if you're getting that prompt you're obviously hitting your voicemail. are you sure you built the correct type mailbox? it's been about 12 years since I programmed mermail but i think you must've not built the mailbox correctly.

You will probably find the same number in the VSDN table of voice mail. If you have a application missing or nothing recorded you will get this message.

Remove the VSDN listing for this number and it will start working

we have the same problem with our symposium. Every now and then we get this meesage played when it should really be playing a message. could this be the same problem? could a segment of been deleted? and then screwed the rest?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
