Purchasing license for used Mitel 3300

I recently purchased used Mitel MX 3300 from liquidation stock in Australia, it has 30 ip users/devices license. I need to purchase additional SIP trunk license for it. I have system password and system ID. Would I be able to purchase additional license from local VAR in Sydney?.

Thank you in advance.

David

The VAR will need access to the App Record you might have to contact Mitel to find out who the current VAR is.

If you could find the VAR that the system was originally purchased from, they would have control of the App record in the AMC and might be willing to help you out on the existing system. Mostly likely they will have to help you purchase a new app record and you may not be able to retain the existing licenses.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

bearing in ind that come December you won't be able to purchase user licences for 4.0 or earlier systems....

For avaya ip office/bcm and alcatel oxo , it would not be a problem to purchase additional license for second hand system. The mitel is virtually worthless to me, if I can purchase additional license to it.
If I post my system ID here, would anyone here able to tell me the Application ID and current Var for this mitel 3300?.

Thanks,
David

nope.

If you have system password then you can find the sys id and the application record ID from the licence and options screen. But that wont help you if Mitel wont give you the VAR address from the App record ID....

Mitel retains ownership of the licensing.

There is a process to relicense a system to a new owner

There is a cost of course, but then it's yours officially

If the previous manager of the app record knowingly sells product to a non-official owner then they are breaking their reseller agreement with Mitel

I got it from liquidation auction in Sydney. Can't blame on previous manager for breaking agreement with Mitel.

The hardware can be sold by anyone, anywhere, anytime

The ownership of the licensing cannot be sold as it is not owned by anyone but Mitel

You're fine up to the point where you need more licensing.
