Hey everyone,
I searched and searched and found one other thread pertaining to my issue but that trailed off into a vpn discussion but didnt give me any help. Here is my situation

I have an IP office v2 that is located in a remote location. I have a branch office vpn between the two using Cisco RVS4000's. Branch Office is my Home Office

Site A (ip office) 192.168.140.0/24 IPO is 140.3
Site B (remote office, Me) 192.168.130.0/24

I have a 5610sw sitting here on my desk working perfectly. I want to log into the IPO via manager to make some configuration changes but i cant seem to do it. i try all the usualy auto discovery attempts. setting the broadcast address to 192.168.140.255 etc... finally if i type the address of the unit in the search box and hit enter it says "you have not selected a unit would you like to connect directly to the switch" i choose yes and then it asks me for the Service username and password." i type in the username and password i use when i'm on site and within a second i get a error message that says Network error - failed to communicate with IP Office.

I have ensured that there is a default gateway in the IPO 0.0.0.0 points to 192.168.140.1 (router). I have also ensured that the IPO has a route to the 192.168.130.0/24 network via 192.168.140.1.

I'm at a loss this is simple tcp/ip routing 101 but it doesnt seem to be working. every other protocol and feature that i access at site A works fine. What in sam hill am i missing.

Thanks everyone.

Mark

Enter the IP address in the broadcast field.
You did try that but i think something went wrong because then it should not give you this notification (not at that time)
Try again.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

IPO os 6.1 I know I know it out of date. Just started with this organization so the upgrade is on my list.
Manager is R8 says 10.0 (44) on the splash screen.

TLpeter def tried it a few times.

Put the LAN cable from your computer into the switch port on the back of the phone, the 5610. Might work...

Discovery use TCP port 50802 and loading the config goes through TCP port 50804.
If you can't find the unit then TCP port 50802 is blocked and if you can find the unit but you get a timeout on loading the config then TCP port 50804 is blocked.
Maybe these ports are reserved by the DNS service in the Cisco.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

You may need to lower your Manager level cause I've attempted to get into a few older systems with a newer Manager version and it didn't see the IPO. The minute I lowered the Manager release I was able to get right it. Just a thought...
