Hello friends:

This is another new horizon for me, and I have never done this before, but you have all offered such wonderful help that I know I can get through this.

In general, I need some assistance with Tables and CCR trees - what they are and how they function.

Specific questions:

I am trying to modify a path in the CCR tree. Here are the steps that I'm taking:

1. Feature 983, 1020000
2. Press OTHR
3. Press CCR
4. Press ADMIN
5. Press 1 for CCR Tree #1, then OK
6. It shows "Tree: 1"; I press CHNG
7. For "Path: ", I enter #5 and press OK.
#5 is currently set to LvMsg, and I want it to be Xfer instead. I continue:
8. I press ERASE, then YES.
9. The system tells me that the path has been erased.
10. I'm now at the PATH: screen again. I enter 5 again.
11. I press OK.
12. I press OTHR, then XFER.
13. I press INT.
14. It prompts me for "Ext: "; I enter 253.
15. I'm now back to the "Path: " screen.
16. I press END.
17. I press SAVE.
18. I press QUIT.

When I go back into the CCR tree, the system has not saved any of my changes, and #5 is back to LvMsg again!! What on earth am I doing wrong?

Here are some additional questions:

1. When I just want to record plain old information, do I select INFO, or do I select LvMsg?

2. Is there a button I can announce that will put callers back to the main menu (press * or something like that to return to the main menu?)

3. I have some questions about the AA feature, when I press TABLE. We have 2 greeting tables here. Table #1 answers lines 1-3 and Table #2 answers line 4. Looking at Table #2, can someone explain to me the meanings of the sub-menus and their settings:

AA MENU PROMPT Y/N (what's the difference; it's set to Y)
MORNING: 20
AFTERNOON: 20
EVENING: 20
NON-BUSINESS: 20
MO MORN: 12:00AM
MO AFTN: 12:00PM
MO EVE: 6:00PM
MO NONB 6:00PM

I'm not sure what these are.

Thanks for your help friends. Appreciate it very much.

Regards,
Michael.

I'm new to this stuff to, but I will see what I can do...

I think the phenomenon you are experiencing is because the tree is enabled. To edit the tree, you need to go to F983 - AA - TABLE - table 1... Page through until you get to CCR TREE. Change it, and set it to disable. Then go back and edit your tree. It will save correctly.

Be sure to re-enable the CCR tree when done!

1) You want INFO

2) I am not sure on this one, my tree is only 1 level deep.

3) The AA MENU PROMPT Y/N This doesn't matter if you use CCR. If CCR is off, it sets if you want startalk's built in main menu to play, or if you want to record your own. You can ignore that one. The other options let you specify different greetings for different times of day. For example, ours are set to play "Good morning, thank you for calling..." from 8-12, "Good afternoon, thank you..." from 12-5, and an office closed recording after 5.

You're awesome! The CCR trick worked like a charm. Will work on the greetings and see what I can come up with.

Thanks much!

-Michael.

Here's one more question:

In the CCR tree, path #2 is set to a menu:
For Bob, press 1
For Bill press 2

I want to get rid of the menu, and instead have:

For Bob, enter extension 232 now.
For Bill, enter extension 233 now.

What settings do I need in order for the voice mail system to recognize that an extension is being inputted while the greeting is playing? Any ideas?

Thanks much!

Leave path #2 as a menu and simply re-record the path 2 greeting.
As soon as you hear a vmail greeting you can enter an ext at anytime.

Curly,

I did as you instructed. I made path #2 a menu and recorded a greeting. However, when I go back into TABLES to re-activate the CCR tree, it tells me that I have an incomplete tree.

I had a revelation and tried a LvMsg greeting with a mailbox, thinking that I had to set something in class of service to make the voice mail system recognize extension numbers. BUT, I can't figure out how to program class of service, so that really hasn't worked out all that well.

Any other options, or maybe something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!
Michael.

Curly,

After MUCH goofing around, I FINALLY figured it out. I recorded a menu, and then made a sub-menu for transfer, and everything works now. Yay! :)
